When you first start out couponing and you are looking at coupon matchups on sites, they can be confusing at first. Here is a list of commonly used abbreviations to help you guys understand what the matchups mean.
SS – Sunday Circular
RP – Red Plum (an insert in the Sunday paper)
P&G – Proctor & Gamble insert that is usually in the first Sunday paper of the month
Blinkie – These are found in the red blinking boxes at stores. I usually save these for a sale on that item.
$1/2 – means $1 off 2 items
B1G1 – Buy 1 get one free
$4/$20 – $4 off a $20 dollar purchase (Make sure you use these coupons first before your total falls below that amount from other coupons.)
Mailer – coupon sent by mail (Look through junk mail before tossing, there may be coupons)
+UP – Rite Aid Up Reward RR – Register Rewards from Walgreens
SCR – Single Check Rebates from Rite Aid
Here is an example:
Arm and Hammer Toothpaste – $3.99
Get a $3 +UP (This is an UP Reward from Rite Aid)
Use the $0.75 or $1 coupon from the 5/8 SS (This means there is a $.75 or $1 coupon in the May 8th SmartSource insert that you can find in your weekly newspaper. Coupon values can vary by region which is why it could be $.75 or $1.)
or use the $1 coupon from here or here (These are printable coupons)
Final price FREE – $0.24 (This is the final price considering UP rewards and coupons.)
