I had a great budget saving trip to Harris Teeter yesterday!! The cashier rang up all of my items and then my coupons and my total was negative $2.84. The manager came over and said they could not give cash back which I knew from reading their coupon policy, so I ended up “buying” 2 packs of gum which brought my total to $.47 and $.31 of that was taxes! I took a picture of what I bought above but my hubby already snagged the gum.
I am so excited!!! I love getting food for free!!!! Here is a picture of my budget saving receipt!!!! Leave a comment if you want to share any great budget saving deals.

That is so exciting! Thank you so much for sharing your great deals and all of the hard work you do on this blog. You have been such a blessing to us.
That is great!! Do you put the money you would of spent away? Or what?? I think that would be a great idea too! I buy the sunday paper and I just dont seem to save a thing, but hopefully I’ll learn from you!
Thanks
My husband does try to put some of the money away, but we also decided that I could quit working after I got the hang of couponing since I could save more money at home by “buying” things for free, having time to cook dinner etc. (Although you would be surprised at how often you can eat out without spending very much money, or completely for free, but that is another post.) I know that after a couple of months my husband said that we had saved about $1500 that month after I had started couponing. So, with a long answer to your question. . . Yes we do save what we can with the extra money. We are both very frugal and don’t like to spend as little money as possible. However, the amazing thing is that we now are able to purchase name brand items cheaper than buying the store brands. (-:
Rene,
That’s so neat! I can’t believe you found the hot sauce though. I’ve been looking for that, and every store I’ve been to doesn’t have any. Where did you find it?
Heather
I found it at a store in High Point. I don’t remember what street, but it was the one 4 miles from Westchester? I know that a lot of stores have been sold out of things. I talked to one of the managers and he said that the warehouse for Harris Teeter in this region was out of these items. I know that a lot of people have been frustrated this time with Harris Teeter not stocking. I know that this was definitely the most understocked that I have seen the stores during triples. Usually it is better though. (: And hopefully they will be better prepared for us on the next go round.
