Garden vegetables

My budget saving garden is coming in. We had salad for lunch with all different types of lettuce. Then for supper we had sugar snap peas, one of my favorites. I even came home and made a snack tonight with rice noodles, bean sprouts, chili peppers and sugar snap peas. Yummy!! Lots of fresh, organic veggies for free. I love gardening!!! My parents, grandparents and my family all work on the garden, so we are able to have a larger one. I have attached a picture of part of the garden taken a couple weeks ago. The frugal, health nut part of me loves the summer when we can basically eat for free. We also were able to buy a quarter of a grass fed, organic cow so we really should not have to spend any money on food soon other than a few staples. We are fortunate to also have access to range fed chickens that produce lots of eggs. Are any of you growing a budget saving garden, if so I would love to hear about it!

I have a budget saving garden! :) Last night we had our first pick of yellow squash and zukes with salmon, and about every other day we can have a salad of mixed greens (spinach/mesclun etc). It's a small garden, but we have beets, maters, carrots, corn, peas, limas, spinach, lettuce, strawberries, cukes, melons and herbs (or we hope to have all this when harvest comes!)

That is great. Lots of variety for a small garden. Good for you. I think it is great to grow veggies and fruit and know how they were grown.
