Budget Saving Success Story

This is a note from one of my readers who just started couponing. She has done a great job saving money. She posted one of her shopping trips to facebook and said I could share it with the group! It looks like she saved over 77% and she just started! I thought this might encourage those of you who are just getting started too! Thanks for sharing Andrea!! This is why I started this blog, to help everyone save money.

What I came home with:

St. Ives Mineral Therapy Body Wash13.5 oz ($2.99 with $2.99 back in rewards)
2 Loreal HIP Eye Shadow Paints (Sale BOGO. Reg price $11.99 but these colors were half price on clearance for $6.19 minus $3 coupons = $3.19 for 2, minus $2.99 in Register Rewards from first purchase= .10 each)
2 Wet and Wild Lip Balm Biggies (for the girls, $1.59 on clearance)

Walgreens Total $7.19, $26.89 Savings. Basically paid for the soap, got a treat for the girls, and got almost free make-up. Had I not gotten the treat, I would have just paid for the $2.99 soap and .20 for the makeup.

Schick Quatro Razor w/ trimmer ($7.99 on sale, $4 coupon= $3.99, $3 ECB’s)
Crest Pro Health Toothpaste ($2.99, .50 coupon= $2.49, $2 ECB’s)
Vo5 Shampoo (.77 on sale)
V05 Conditioner
Kellogs Corn Pops ($1.88 ea, $1.50 on 2 coupon, $1.13 a box final)
Kellogs Raisin Bran
Electrosol Power Tabs 20 ct (sale $3.99, .75 coupon)
Skin Effects Sunblock ($2.75 on clearance, reg. price unknown)

CVS Total $9.11 Saved $27.21.
Spent $ 4.02 on first purchase (razor and toothpaste) after coupons and old $3 ECB , and earned $5 ECB’s used next purchase.
Spent $5.09 on second purchase after coupons and $5 ECB’s (shampoo, conditioner, 2 boxes of cereal, detergent and fancy anti-aging sun block.)

Total Spent $16.30
Total saved $54.10 plus the difference between the full to clearance price of the sunscreen which I don’t know.

If you have a budget saving success story I would love to hear from you too. I think it helps people starting out couponing to see just how many budget saving deals there are out there.

PS: I made sure to tell my Walgreens ladies that I was new to couponing, as they were. I told them about BudgetSavingMom and how this fine lady laid it all out for us for free! What a blessing!
