Coupon Notebook

I previously posted pictures and an explanation about my coupon notebook. I have since come up with a couple more ideas that seem to be working even better for me. To see my original post click here.

Now, I have a trapper keeper instead of a 3 ring binder. I love this because I can zip it up, and it has a handle. This is so helpful with 3 kids in tow! Also, I am able to keep my scissors in there. At the front is an accordian style plastic storage area where I have put all of my store policies for any crabby cashiers I may encounter along the way. At the front is an area that zips up and I put in my envelopes with the coupons that I have pulled for particular stores. I LOVE ORGANIZATION!

I actually divided up my coupons into 2 notebooks now. One for food items and the other for non food items. I may go back to one at some point, but for now, I love my notebooks being light and easier to juggle with kids. This is not as practical as my one huge notebook, but in the store, it sure has made my life easier.

Also, one more tip – - – Make sure you put your name and contact info in your notebook. These notebooks do take some time to put together and we all know that coupons are like money so you definitely want to get it back if you lose it.

This is great… unfortunately for me I **DID** lose my coupon organizer this week…. I searched my house and car for 3 hours and NOTHING… I looked online at my bank account to confirm the last few stores I was in and NO ONE had turned it in :( I had some walgreens bucks in there and oooooodles of really high value coupons that I am absolutely mourning the loss of :(

Oh, I am so sorry. I think I would literally cry if I lost my notebook. I hope that it somehow turns up for you. I have almost left mine so many times, but fortunately the cashier always has handed it to me. Sounds like you tried hard to find it too. I really hope you get it back somehow.

I love the trapper keeper idea with baseball card sleeves. I’ll be in Staples in the next few days anyway so I’ll have to pick one up.

A trapper keeper would also hold a calculator if you’re inclined to keep track of your total while shopping.

Follow-up to yesterday’s comment: I happened to be in Target last night and checked they’re Trapper-style binders. I found one for $2.65!

Question: How do you organize the coupons inside? Does each coupon get it’s own pocket in the trading card sleeve page?

I’m so glad you were able to find such a great deal! Yes, each coupon gets its own sleeve, unless you have multiples of the same coupon. And if you have to fold the coupon, try and fold it so you can see the expiration date as well as what the coupon is so that you can clean it out easier. Have fun!

Check out the link here for pe-made binders. Rene had posted this before somewhere on her site. Getting organized was the hardest part to me too.
