Earlier, I talked about budget saving clothing at consignment sales. Today, I want to talk about free clothing. This is actually my favorite thing to do! I love to be able to give away my clothes to others so that they can enjoy the clothing as well. I have participated in several clothing swaps. What you do at a clothing swap, is a group of people get together and bring the clothing that they no longer need. Everyone puts their clothes onto the tables by size. Once all of the clothes are laid out, people can go through the clothing and pick up what they need. After everyone has what they need, the rest of the clothes can be donated.
This is something that has been done for years. I know my mom would get bags of clothes for us, and we would have so much fun going through the clothes and trying them on. We kept the ones we needed and passed on the rest to others.
It feels really good to be able to give to others this way, and you get clothing that you need. I have done these through home school groups, with friends and through churches. Clothing often has so much life left in it, and it is great to see it put to good use!
