Budget Saving Tips: Top 3 Substitutions Around My House

I think one of the best ways to save money is to substitute items that you can. Just be creative in your purchases.

1. I am often able to get plain yogurt cheaper than sour cream, so I use plain yogurt instead.

2. Pull-ups. These can be SO expensive. I buy Little Swimmers at the end of season and use them as Pull-Ups. I also will buy Good-Nites if there is a special deal on them, and let my kids where them instead of Pull-Ups. They work the same, so why not? I just save the Pull-Ups for when we go out, and use the others around the house.

3. Buttermilk – Just throw in a little vinegar to your milk, and you have buttermilk.

What type of substitutions does your family use to save money? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear about them!
