I love pan biscuits! We had breakfast for dinner last night, eggs and biscuits. These are my Grandaddy Dilmus’s biscuits. They are so yummy. He used to make them for us everytime that we came to see him. Fortunately, my sister wrote down the recipe so we are still able to make them today. My kids help make these all the time. They are so easy to make. They add the ingredients (other than the butter) & stir them up for me. They may not be the healthiest biscuits around, but they are definitely the best!
Ingredients
- 2 heaping cups of flour
- 1 t salt
- 2 t baking powder
- enough buttermilk to make it sticky like a biscuit dough should be about 1.5 cups
- 3/4 stick of butter
Instructions
- Melt the butter in an iron skillet at 475. Mix all other ingredients together. Pour half of the melted butter into the dough and mix. Drop spoonfuls of dough into iron skillet.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes or until done. Flip out the golden hot biscuits onto a plate and dig in! YUMMY!!
