Where We Buy Our Seeds

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds or Seeds of Change are the two places that we order our seeds from. This year we used Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. Using heirloom seeds is important to our family since we want seeds that are not genetically modified and that we can dry and reuse the next year.

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds – Here’s what their site says: We only offer open-pollinated seeds: pure, natural and non-GMO! We offer heirloom seeds from 70 countries, including many that we collected ourselves.

Seeds Of Change - They offer over 1200 different organic seeds to choose from

I am so excited about our garden again this year! I think it is so amazing that you can plant a seed and watch it turn into a plant that produces food. That might sound corny, but it really is incredible. We either choose a few plants to never pick and let them dry out for seeds the next year, or wait until the end of the season and let the plants go to seed.

  1. [...] We purchased our seeds the first year. We spent a good bit of money on seeds that were heirloom, non genetically modified, and open pollinating seeds. As a result, we are able to save our seeds from our produce to reuse year and year.  This makes the produce from our garden virtually FREE after that initial purchase. [...]
