Coupon Abbreviations

You guys might notice that this week’s CVS deals look a little different than normal. When I started writing this blog, I wanted to help newbies be able to learn how to coupon. I know a lot of people are intimidated by abbreviations, so I always just wrote out Sunday paper rather than SS, PG, RP which are different inserts in the weekly paper.

However, I have learned at this conference that a lot of people organize their coupons just by the inserts and don’t cut them out. While that is a complete disaster for me. (I keep missing the coupon and spend FOREVER searching), apparently some people do use this method.

Since I want them to be able to use my deals as well, I am trying the CVS deals with the abbreviations today. So basically when you see two letters together like SS, PG, RP they simply mean coupon inserts from the Sunday paper.

I am going to try and switch over to this method. I am sure that I won’t be perfect. I go into autopilot and start typing Sunday paper every time, but I am going to try and list the inserts for those of you who organize your coupons this way.

Let me know if you have any questions about this. Thanks!!

I agree with you!! It takes time to cut the coupons and organize them but I know where to look right away and find what I need quickly. We only get the smart source coupons in our paper so it does help to know which insert you are referring to so I know I wasn’t missing anything..I just don’t get the others! Thanks for all of your hard work!! :)
