Thanks, Amanda!!

One of my readers read about my sick hubby and kids and actually brought them dinner tonight! I can’t believe that. Thank you so much, Amanda!!! That means so much to us. I really appreciate it since I’m not there to take care of them.

Hey, I just wanted to comment and let you know the whole story…

I woke up to snow Friday morning which meant that my activities for the day were canceled. Since I had been given some extra free time (which I don’t get much of being a mom of three) I decided to do some cooking. I made a big crock-pot of soup, a big batch of burritos made with rice and black beans and two loaves of bread (which I have not successfully done in the past). I was cooking all morning. I decided to take a break that afternoon and read some of the blogs I follow and that’s when I discovered that Rene and family were sick. God immediately spoke to my heart and I knew why I had been cooking all day. I can honestly say that my first response was to dismiss the thought, but I couldn’t stop thinking of all this food I had and them being there, 5mins from my house, sick and possible in need of a meal. So I quickly called Rene’s husband and explained the situation and he was very grateful. In fact he said he was just lying in bed (because now he was sick) trying to figure out what in the world he was going to feed the kids for dinner. The other amazing thing is that one or all of the kids (I can’t remember which) love to eat burritos made with rice and black beans! God is so good! My hubby took the meal over after he got home from work so I didn’t even have to go out in the bad weather. (that really was my main reason for wanting to dismiss the idea) I am so glad I listened to the Lord, because I was blessed beyond words. I was also to use this as an example to teach my boys the importance of following through when we have thoughts about helping others. I am so thankful you guys are feeling better. I hope you are having a great time away. I can’t wait to here all about it.

    • How neat, Amanda!! Thank you so much again for doing that. They actually all love bean and rice burritos, but especially our 3 year old. She would eat beans and rice all day. (-: It was so great for them. It is amazing how the Lord works!
