Saving Money On Paper Products

We have 15 people in our family that live near us. When I have everyone over for dinner, I always use paper plates. It might be cheaper to use glass plates and wash them, but this is something I am personally not willing to do at this point in my life.

There have been several times that I have been able to buy paper plates for free using coupons, and I have really stocked up during that time. They actually lasted us for almost a year, so that was really exciting to me!

Another way that I save money on paper plates is buying holiday plates when they go on clearance. My family knows that I love to save money, so they don’t think it’s unusual to eat on bunny plates in June or on Christmas plates in July.

When you are buying decorative paper plates, you do want to make sure that they are a usable size, and look at the number of plates. If the plates are on sale for $1, but there are only 10 of them, that’s not a good deal. With plates, I try and wait until I find them at least 75% off. Some of the best prices that I have found on plates are after Thanksgiving, but you can also look after Valentine’s Day.
