Yesterday, I talked about not buying flowers for Valentine’s Day. Today, I am going to talk about what I have bought in the past AFTER Valentine’s Day. I love to buy reusable decorations after Valentine’s Day. I wait until the items are at least 75% off, and then I will get reusable decorations. I love to do this, because I am able to use them for at least 2 events a year (sometimes more). I will use them for Valentine’s Day AND for our anniversary.
I got some red paper hearts one year, and red hearts on a string that hang another year. I have used those for years now, and they still have plenty of use in them. I have put hearts on the stairs up from the basement on our anniversary as my hubby comes home from work. I have also decorated the kitchen when I have made him a special meal.
My daughter helped with one of those meals, and actually served us and her dolls. It was SO cute. So be creative with the after Valentine’s day sales and see what creative ideas you can come up with.

Another day you could use these decorations is in October for Sweetest Day. My husband and I tend to just do a little candy item and card, he does not like Hallmark holidays that he doesn’t think should be celebrated! It also doesn’t help that our anniversary is the week before valentines :O)
I had never heard of that. That would be a fun surprise. Thanks for the suggestion. Rene
