Keeper Of the Home

I have mentioned several times that I roomed with Stephanie from Keeper of the Home while we were at Blissdom. I had so much fun getting to know her. Most of my friends and family love her site, so they were so excited that I was rooming with her. I thought it was funny they acted like she was a movie star.

But, there is a reason that they love her site! It is great. I have mentioned several times that we have changed our diet this past year. Back in April, we decided that we needed to change our lifestyles. I read Nourishing Traditions, and we started eating almost entirely organic foods. This made a huge difference in our lives. My husband and I lost a ton of weight, 140 pounds between the two of us. Also, we obviously felt a ton better.

I have also tried to eliminate chemicals from our lives in other ways. We use homemade soap, homemade cleaners, and are trying to eliminate other chemicals from our house as well. I got so many great ideas from Stephanie while we were in Nashville. My mom and sister just made her homemade deodorant, and they absolutely love it. That will be my next project as well.

If you are interested in more natural living, eating etc. I highly recommend her site. She also has a new book coming our soon, that I can’t wait to read, “Real Food On A Real Budget”. I am sure that you can tell from the title why I am so excited about it!

Here is some more information about Stephanie, Keep of the Home. Stop by her site and check it out. You will love it!  Currently she is writing about the GAPS diet. I actually wrote a guest post for her about this diet. She got me interested in it while we were in Nashville, and I can’t believe the results that I have seen. I will let you guys know when she publishes it, so that you can check it out.

If she’s not in the kitchen, you’ll probably find her in the garden or the home school room! Stephanie loves to spend her time cooking the whole foods that God created, in the old-fashioned ways that great-grandma used to make them. As the blessed wife of an handsome entrepreneur and a joyful mama to 3 little ones (so far), life is never dull and that’s just the way she likes it. Taking a practical approach, she writes daily articles on inspired natural living for homemakers at her blog, Keeper of the Home. Her first book, “Healthy Homemaking: One Step at a Time” was published in 2009, and her second book, “Real Food on a Real Budget,” is due to be published March 2010.
