We start several of our plants inside as seeds in newspaper pots each year. These pots are so easy to make and use. Also, they are very budget friendly. You can just use newspaper to make your pots. When you are ready to transplant your plants, just tear off the bottom of the pot to plant in the garden. You can leave the sides of the pots intact.

That is a cool idea. No need to spend money on peat pots. I am going to try that with my flower seeds.
Great! Glad it was helpful. Thanks for reading! Rene
Yeah Rene! I was just thinking about starting my pepper plants inside with egg cartons as a homeschool project for the boys, but your idea will give me more space to plant in. I love your video how-tos, keep up the good work!
God Bless!

Thanks so much, Esther!!
Thanks Rene!I love this idea and think it would be a good “busy” project for the kids. Hope all is well.
Great idea! I live in KS, so we have a shorter growing season and less sun. What do you suggest as far a lighting if I try to start seeds inside, and when should I start them? Are there some seeds you can sow directly into the ground? I’ve never started my garden from seed and would love to learn how!

I link to a bunch of posts about when to start specific plants. You start them based on your areas first and last frost dates. There are seeds that you sow directly in the ground as well. I tell you how to do both in most of these posts. Hope they are helpful! Rene
I am totally going to try this this year! Thanks for sharing.
