Consignment Sale Finds Yesterday

I used the consignment sale list from The Frugal Homeschooling Mom, and went shopping all day yesterday.

I was really excited about my finds! I bought a great summer wardrobe for my youngest two.

I got 10 shirts, 3 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of capris & a pair of jeans for myself. I have never been pregnant in the summer before, so I only had one short sleeve shirt & 1 pair of shorts. I really needed clothes, so I was so excited!!

I got my 3 year old 5 pairs of shoes. No, they aren’t all the same size. I got her 2 pairs of tennis shoes (one is for the garden) and a pair of dressier shoes. I also got her a pair of tennis shoes the next 2 sizes up. It seems like her feet can grow a size in a month sometimes, so now I am prepared.  She is modeling one of the pairs of shoes. She kept going through, and putting all of them on. She actually did the same with her clothes. It was really cute!

Plus, I even got my youngest two Easter dresses!! Are they not SO cute!!! I can’t wait for them to wear them! I was really excited about these!!

I had so much fun with my daughters shopping yesterday. One of the sales even gave us coupons for free kid’s meals at Chick-fil-a. This was great! We got to eat lunch “almost” free.

I definitely spent more than I usually do. I usually spend about $60 on their clothes for the season. This year I spent $70, but I got some really cute things, and $70 is still good I think. (This included some purchases for my oldest daughter as well.) Also, my clothes cost $2-$5 a piece – - I think I spent close to $60 on my clothes. But, this is so much cheaper than buying maternity clothes new!!  I have been pricing them, and YIKES!! $60 for one pair of jeans – I got these for $3!! Yippee!  Plus, I got some really cute stuff for date nights with my hubby. (-:

  1. Great, job, Rene! $70 is AWESOME for what all you got! I went to one sale yesterday myself, and got Laynie a Melissa and Doug teddy bear lacing set for $2.50 – great for “preschool,” AND just a fun toy! Didn’t have as much luck as you did with clothing though – but I went just before the end of the 1/2 price sale, so I must’ve missed out on all the good stuff because I went so late. But, it was nice to sleep in! I’m heading out next weekend too, a little earlier – I hope I have as much luck as you did!
