Name recognition:
- Write kids names on cards. Place on refrigerator. Kid find his/her name.
- Tape names to the mirror in the bathroom. Kid finds his name when brushes teeth.
- Kid practices writing first letter of his name by tracing.
- Kid practices writing all letters of his name.
- Make a sheet with various words on it. Place his name on it in several places and he has to locate his name by placing objects on top of it.
- Practice spelling first name out loud.
- Practice tracing first name.
- Learn to write first letter of name without tracing, but looking at the letter. Do this with crayons, pencils, markers, play dough and tracing with salt or making with beans.
- Learn to write all letters of the name while saying the letters. You should use upper and lower case at this point.
- After learning to write his name, every paper given to the student should have his name written at the top.
