Free Places to Visit in North Carolina

My friend Deana, typed up a great list of free places to visit in North Carolina. I am sure that you guys know of a lot more that we could add to this list. Leave a comment and let us know what additional places you know of.

These could be fun as a cheap staycation for your family, and many of them are really educational as well. Our family loves to visit historical places and museums on vacations.

There are lots of places to visit for free in the state of North Carolina.  Any of the following places would make great “field trips” for homeschoolers in NC!  These are just the few I’m aware of.

Burlington:

Alamance Battleground

Greensboro:

ArtQuest (Wednesdays 5-7 pm)

Greensboro Arboretum

Raleigh:

NC Museum of Art (Thanks, Jenny!)

Salisbury:

Dan Nicholas Park

Spencer:

North Carolina Transportation Museum

Winston-Salem:

Bethabara Park

Museum of Anthropology

I can’t wait to hear what other great ideas you guys have!
