These could be fun as a cheap staycation for your family, and many of them are really educational as well. Our family loves to visit historical places and museums on vacations.
There are lots of places to visit for free in the state of North Carolina. Any of the following places would make great “field trips” for homeschoolers in NC! These are just the few I’m aware of.

The brand new NC Museum of Art in Raleigh. I live down the road from it but haven’t had a second to stop by. It has some amazing works and it is an amazing building. Definitely worth a trip. (and it is free)
