Caring For A Loved One

I have had quiet a few people notice that I have not been posting quite as much over the past few weeks. Also, the promised preschool curriculum has never been posted. I have been hesitant to explain what has been going on, but since there have been so many questions, I do feel as if you guys deserve some information about what has been going on in my personal life over the past few weeks. I am going to be purposely vague for the sake of the person that I am talking about. While I have chosen to share things about myself this person doesn’t have a blog where they typically lay out information about their life. (-:

I have someone in my family who I love very much who became quite ill. I was actually really afraid that I would lose this person they were so sick. However, God has really taken care of them, and they are now doing some better. This person was in the hospital for a while, and I was there every chance that I had. Now that that person is home, there is still a long recovery ahead. This person, their children and their care are now my priority until this person is completely able to take care of herself again. I have been and will continue to help this person each day that I am needed. That means that I have to get up early and stay up late to make sure that all of my homeschooling prep gets done, collect all of the homeschooling material so that we can leave early each morning to go be with this person, and I still need to fix dinner and take care of my house when I get home. I am not saying these things to gain sympathy, because I truly love this person and would do anything for them, I just want you guys to understand the reason that I have been struggling to post quite as much.

I love this person very much, and I consider it a huge privilege and a divine intervention in my life that I am able to help them to the best of my ability. Right before this person got sick, I actually started a Bible Study on Jonah and how he viewed God’s call on his life as an interruption. However, that interruption was actually a divine intervention. I think it is amazing to think about how God has a purpose for your life regardless of what you think it might be, and how he orchestrates everything for a reason.  I am choosing to view everything that has happened over the past few weeks as a divine intervention in our lives that is for a reason.

Here are a few of the ways that God has worked early on to allow me to be able to care for this person. I learned how to save money. This allowed me to stay home full time. This person recently moved to a house only five minutes away from me. All of these things happened before I had a clue that they would need to happen for me to be able to help this person. I truly feel like this is something that God would have me do, and I am very happy to be able to do it.

However, this also means that I have less hours in the day to devote to this blog. I will continue blogging. Blogging is a great outlet for me, and I know that many of you rely on this blog to help your families save money. I know some of you have felt like I don’t really care about this blog anymore, but that is really not true. I have spent hours on this blog each day for more than two years at least six days a week. This blog actually means quite a bit to me. I just have to sleep sometimes and for a brief season my priorities are changing. The preschool curriculum is actually almost completely written. However, I don’t know when I will be able to completely finish it. I probably need another 10 hours just to read through and edit it some more. I have absolutely no time to devote to it right now. It is completely usable for me and my family as well as my friend’s families. However, it is not ready to be published.

Basically, I am only human, and I will do the best that I can for you guys not to be able to tell that my life has changed some as far as my blogging is concerned. However, I don’t know when or if the preschool curriculum will get published. My care for this person is and will remain my priority until they are 100% better.

Thanks so much for your understanding and taking the time to read my blog. I really do appreciate each and every one of you. Your encouraging statements and e-mails make my day!

Rene
