3 Bean Chili Recipe

My husband loves chili! Well, talk about a budget recipe, this one definitely is! I was trying to come up with a really quick and easy chili recipe tonight. I didn’t want to have to defrost any beef, so I came up with this 3 bean chili. It turned out really well. (He didn’t even notice the meat was missing.) This is definitely a budget recipe! It was very cheap to make! Also, it literally took me seven minutes to throw together.

3 Bean Chili Recipe

1 can pinto beans
1 can black beans
1 can kidney beans
1/2 pint canned homemade tomato paste (or one small can from the store)
1 pint whole tomatoes canned (or 28 oz can from the store) You could also use fresh tomatoes if they are in season.
6 cups water
1 large onion sauteed and added (You can also just chop an onion and add it, or even use dehydrated onions for speed. I just love caramalized onions.)
1 T chili powder
1 T cilantro (fresh) You could use 1/4 of that if you are using dried
1 T cumin
1 t Lawry’s seasoning salt
1 t paprika
1 t taco seasoning
3 cloves of garic minced

Add all ingredients together, and simmer on the stove. I let it simmer for about 30 minutes, but you can just let it simmer as long as you like since I think that really increasez the flavor. This was good enough to eat alone.

Yum! We love chili.I have a very easy recipe but I just use kidney beans. I think I’ll go wild and add in other beans just like your recipe. Thanks for the idea.
