We had our Tapestry of Grace unit celebration Saturday night. It was so much fun! We have been studying the ancient Egyptians, Mesopotamians and Israelites for the past nine weeks.
The kids prepared tiger nut candy, fig cakes, sliced dates and figs, and homemade matzah for the unit celebration. We also had a sedar meal for the kids. The kids were able to show off all of the work that they had done for this quarter.
My entire family came to the unit celebration, so we had great-grandparents, grandparents, cousins and their aunt and uncle here. The girls all dressed up like Egyptians, and the boys dressed up like ancient Israelites, and the high priest.
Here are several pictures from the unit celebration! Unfortunately, I did not snap many pictures of the projects. We had a bull running around in our front yard, driveway and back yard right as everyone came (totally random I know!), and I was planning on taking the pictures then, but instead we were distracted by the bull! Although one of the “priests” joked that they were going to bring a bull to the celebration anyway since we were talking about the tabernacle.
The kids presented information about the Egyptian model garden that they had made, as well as the model tabernacle. They also showed the cloth that they had weaved, and the loom that they made to weave the cloth. Plus, they had made an ancient Egyptian game, and explained how to play the game.
Our eldest daughter also discussed 10 facts about each of the ancient civilizations that we have studied so far.
